All right, everyone, it’s Friday, and you know what that means? It means it’s time for stop being the best kept secret. I’m one of your co hosts here, Damon Pistulka, that pretty gentleman right over there. Kurt Anderson, is here with me today because we’re going to be talking about SEO for manufacturers and focusing on your core strengths. Kurt, take it away, my friend,

Curt Anderson  00:30

I think we might need a new intro on that pretty part. You know, I don’t know. I think you need to are you going to the eye doctor today? Where are you going? I do have to go. I do have to go. Is i Doctor or Dennis, where are you going today? Dennis, but yeah, you need to go the eye doctor. Damon, so All right, let’s then, All right, welcome. Stop being the best kept secret. We’re going to go fast and furious. We are diving in talking about SEO strategies for manufacturers. And in particular, it is so important to talk about your core strengths. I have a couple fun examples for you today. Damon, you ready? You ready for that? Okay, so I have a couple fun examples. We’re going to talk about your core strengths. What do you absolutely best at Damon, one of our favorite questions that we love to ask, when client, when guests, come on, we’re going to we’re back with guests in two weeks, maybe a week. And we love asking, how do you make the world a better place, right? So, you know, man, if you want to put in the chat box, anybody out there, so you know, what makes you the the rock star, the amazing person that you are, how do you make the world a better place? And that is a great strategy to build your business. It’s a great opportunity to connect with new clients, and it’s an wonderful strategy for SEO. Your thoughts, my friend,

Damon Pistulka  01:45

yeah, I think you really, you know, focusing on your core strengths is so important. Because, you know, when you connect with someone based on a core strength, it is a, it can be a very, very strong relationship, because if you’re really good at, you know, I don’t know, making hybrid, you know, making crazy off road bikes and someone else is, that’s what I really need. You know, it’s, it’s, it’s a match It’s a match made in heaven. Sometimes it’s a

Curt Anderson  02:14

match made. I’m going to give you a couple fun examples. You ready? You ready? Together? Okay, can you see my screen?

Damon Pistulka  02:20

Liquid death, I tell you, liquid

Curt Anderson  02:23

death is, I’m a big fan of how I built this. The podcast. Here’s the book. Can you see the book right there? So how I built this guy, Raz I absolutely, you know, I listen to that religiously. And this is such a fascinating, incredible success story, liquid death. And you talk about somebody that really leaned in to blue, you know, we could, this could be like a blue ocean strategy. But what he did is just really leaned into, like, what he felt he was absolutely bust at, okay, and look at this tagline, murder, your thirst. Like, Yep, it’s, I remember the first time I was out and got a can of, you know, we were at this it was always of, like, a food truck thing, yeah, and we’re in Florida, and, you know, one somebody in our group was like, I just need a water. I just need a bottle of water. And I go up to, I’m like, Hey, can I have a bottle of water? And they hand me this can. I’m like, No, I said a bottle of water. Like, what is this liquor theft? Right? What a brilliant absolute. I just think this is such a phenomenal strategy. Your thoughts

Damon Pistulka  03:27

well? And the cool thing about it too, is people understand that the aluminum can recycles much, much more the percentage of recycling aluminum Kansas is like quant, you know, exponentially larger than plastic, and that’s one of their things. But the the whole marketing around, like you said, murder, your thirst, liquid death, the name, it’s really cool.

Curt Anderson  03:48

It’s, you know, it was such a brilliant strategy. And just, you know, he talks about how he was at a concert, and, you know, it was all day thing. And you know, everybody was drinking, you know, like all the power drinks. And, you know, it was like sweltering out. And just, you know, people were just being, you know, you’re getting dehydrated. They just needed water, yeah, and nobody wanted to drink a bottle of water. And so this is, this was the brainchild, to my understanding, comes up with this idea. And he’s targeting a very, very specific target market of who would want to drink out of can called Liquid death with a skeleton on the front. I just, I think it’s absolutely brilliant. So okay, I’m going to share another example for you, focusing on your core strength. So again, this is another example, not manufacturing, but you know, for anybody out there that’s been to raising canes, I think this is a brilliant strategy. Like their food, don’t like their food, but that like what you’re looking at right there. If we can stop that, I don’t know if I can stop that, but stop that video. Can I stop that? I could have he has, like, five items. That’s it, five items on the menu, and it’s right there. It is right there. So he sells Chicken, chicken fingers, fries, coleslaw, Texas Toast, and then I think it’s lemonade and soda. That is it. Like. That’s all he sells at their restaurant.

Damon Pistulka  05:02

Yeah, yeah. And you see it on on the the napkin or the paper under their One love, you know, one love really, just gotta cut it down. Cut it down and do what you

Curt Anderson  05:14

do, right? So, I mean, like, what courage? And again, caught him on a podcast on how I built this great if you’re entrepreneur looking for a great podcast to listen to. I always, I get so much value out of listening to entrepreneurs there. And he talked about how they’re like, you know, man, you know, you know, the chicken fingers are healthy. You need to get into, you know, salads. And he’s like, wait a minute, that’s going to completely disrupt my my flow, my supply chain, my process, my operations, everything, and so like this is all he sells, and he sticks to it relentlessly, unapologetically. And if these five items aren’t for you, there’s a million other choices. Yes, have fun, you know. Yeah. So anyway, this is what he what he talks about is, what’s your craveable solution, right? What’s your craveable solution that you provide to the market? So again, for our manufacturers out there, you’re putting circuit boards, CNC, you’re cutting metal, but whatever you’re doing, right? How? What’s your craveable solution?

Damon Pistulka  06:20

Yeah, and it’s so important to be able to get the just get down to that, because otherwise you’ve got so much noise you’re talking about. But when you really focus in on those core strengths, you talk about that, and it makes everything easier, your sales, your marketing, your customer communication, so many things,

Curt Anderson  06:43

exactly. So okay, I’m going to give another example. So here we go. So Damon, lately, we’ve been showing off our new software tool. It’s called the B to B TAIL digital game plan. Yep. And what we love to do is, first and foremost, when we start engaging with a client going through that process, is exactly that point we want to find out, like, what are you absolutely best at? What are your core strengths? How can we take advantage and move the needle in the market? Any thoughts that you want to share here, as we’re looking at our friends at Falconer electronics?

Damon Pistulka  07:14

Yeah, I think when you really, as you said, you focus on these core strengths, first of all is identifying them. And a lot of times we don’t take the time to identify them in the first place. And this is where we start with that, because when you identify your your strengths and then how those strengths relate into opportunities, you you really can miss a lot of your growth potential, or the potential to find new business relationships that’ll

Curt Anderson  07:39

help you exactly. So the thing is, and again, it’s not about us, it’s all about you. But like this particular example here, what this tool is doing, it’s going out, and it’s scraping a website, and it’s talking about like, hey, custom ground strap manufacturing. So bam, right there, their absolute core strength, that becomes their keyword, right? That’s one of their ridiculously important keywords that they’re pursuing. The other thing is, you know, tariffs have been a really, you know, whatever time you’re you’re catching this on replay. You know, tariffs have been a hot topic this year, Made in USA quality. So that is a huge deal for them. And then right here, we’re going to dive into this for a minute, instant online quote builders. So because, you know, in the past, they were very broad, you know, hey, we do wire harness assemblies. We do circuit you know, we do a bunch of different things. They really lean in, like we are exceptional at making this little goofy product called a ground strap. It’s ubiquitous. It’s a multi, multi billion dollar market. So they started, they’re like, Okay, well, how can we move the needle? How can we separate ourselves? So they created an instant quote tool so now people could get a quote as fast as possible. And let’s take a look at the that tool. So any What are your thoughts of going in this direction

Damon Pistulka  08:54

here? Yeah, I think you know, it really has helped to hone in on a specific process they can use to make a wide range of products that will help help clients. So we’re focusing in on this process with them, and then making it really easy and easy for people to get quotes and place orders for product,

Curt Anderson  09:15

exactly. So the thing is, they pop out so you come on their website and, you know, the screen I just showed here, you know. So they’re focusing on, like, their core strengths right here, you know, manufacturer direct, huge selection of Instax sizes, sizes, custom build your own ground strap. Let’s get an instant quote right now. And so somebody can come in and they just click around. They go, here they go, here they go, here they go, here. Click these two over here they go down here. They click, hey, I want this right? Here they go down. And you see, I’m going to say, no, here, now what? And I’m like, Hey, Kurt, slow down, dude, you’re going too fast. The point is, they’re just trying to build this product. And you see, Damon, like, they’ve got the menu item of it’s a step by step. What I just created? Right? Yeah. Now. I’m like, Okay, well, how many do I want? Well, I need. I’ll take 72 I need six dozen today. And do I want another one? No, I’m going to say no, I’m ready. I’ve just created a product that doesn’t exist anywhere else on the planet, right this second. Mm hmm. Like I just customized and created. I put in my name, I put in all my information, and bam, I hit submit, and now I’m just going to put tests so the folks know that I’m, hey, I’m just kicking the tires here. I’m testing this out. I hit submit, and now the thing is, like, I just, I go ahead and I get an instant quote, you know? Yeah, it works that. Bam, there it is. Hits my inbox. I know exactly what I’m ordering. I know how, you know, I get a picture, an image, technical drawing, the sizes, I get everything. Now the configurator is secondary. I’m going to stop sharing. Come back to you, the actual configurator is secondary. The point is the process of like, really leaning into like, this is what we’re best at. And so now, how do we just keep moving the needle further, just to distance ourselves. We’re like now, now it’s really challenging for the competitors to catch up. Yeah,

Damon Pistulka  11:07

yeah. I mean, when you this is, this is very similar to, you know, what Amazon did years ago, to e commerce, right? Yeah. You know, make it so easy for someone to buy that they can just buy, get it quick, right? I mean, the speed, speed, speed. Everybody wants stuff faster. I don’t care what industry you’re in, but when you can take a step like this, from the old traditional step of, oh, I have to contact someone, and worse yet, maybe I have to call a salesperson. And then we got to talk about a quote, and then we got to go through this and get it well, this is like you like to say you can do this Friday night at midnight, sitting on your couch, if you’re if you need that product, get a quote and even place an order without talking to anyone

Curt Anderson  11:48

exactly. I don’t have to worry about tariffs. I don’t have to worry about overseas. I don’t have to, I don’t have to talk about the weather, you know, yeah, I don’t have to introduce myself. I don’t have to have small talk. Let’s small talk later. But man, if I need these right now. And I’ll tell you, like, the that tool, like, I get all the emails like, that tool’s been on fire just this morning, you know, like, they just got a really nice order a few minutes ago, and it’s, you know, so again, bottom line we’re going to start writing down is, how do you focus on your core strengths? We just gave an example with liquid death. What I man, I’m just so jealous of that. What a brilliant, brilliant strategy, raising canes. If you haven’t been to one stop in one it’s just, you know, five items on the menu, laser focus and just unapologetically does not deviate from what they’re doing best. And then we just showed our friends here at Falkland electronics, words of wisdom. Parting thoughts. How do you want to close this

Damon Pistulka  12:38

out? Well, I think it is just take some time to really focus in on your core strengths and make sure everything that you are doing marketing wise, website wise, communication wise to potential clients, just talks about those strengths. If you’re going to be you’re going to be having those discussions, and make sure that that is very prominent in what you’re doing

Curt Anderson  12:59

right and how that ties in with your SEO, because now I’m laser focused on that, that niche, I’m just going to exploit that and target that, those keywords, that content, create a configurator, stick stick to my menu. Or how do I separate myself from the competition, like with liquid death, and go a different direction? So yeah. Damon, thank you. Man, this is a great little jam session today. If you guys have questions, man, connect with Damon on LinkedIn. I would be honored, and it’d be a privilege to connect with you on LinkedIn.
